bettrends Bulletin - The Start Of The Jumps

We have enjoyed a fantastic season on the flat in 2022 with countless memorable moments from the highs to the lows ranging from the rise of the loveable Highfield Princess to the top of the sprinting division to Baaeed`s shock defeat in his farewell race; it has been an unforgettable season. However, as the curtain closes on the summer another door opens as the National Hunt season gives us no time to rest.

The jumps season for us here at bettrends kicks off on 29th October and we can not wait to get stuck into the jumps; for many on the team this is their bread and butter. After ending the flat service on such a high note, with over 33pts of profit since the start of August including a +19.6pt Ebor Service, we are extremely excited to take this good form into the National Hunt season and really smash the jumps.

The allure of Cheltenham is what keeps many jumps fans awake at night, but we are still a long way to go from the seasonal showpiece and there is lots of fantastic action spread throughout the season to look forward to. We get a taste of the Gloucestershire track with the Open Meeting in mid-November, a scene of great success for the bettrends team who hit two 10/1 winners last year including the winner of the Paddy Power Gold Cup, Midnight Shadow. An extremely popular meeting to kick-start our standalone services, with three straight days of top-class racing.

Just two weeks later we have Newbury`s signature meeting, The Ladbrokes Winter Carnival, which features the storied Coral Gold Cup (formerly The Hennessy Gold Cup/Ladbrokes Trophy). A truly historic race that has seen superstars and fan favourites pass through the winners enclosure; a list that includes the likes of Native River, Arkle, Bob`s Worth and Many Clouds. Who can forget though the most famous renewal of all time – that of Denman`s immense weight-carrying performance? From a monster rating of 174, giving 13 pounds to his closest rival in the weights, he landed the spoils under Ruby Walsh in an all-time performance. Nine winners of this contest have gone on to win a Gold Cup later down the line – can we find another here this year? Along with five other pattern-class races, it looks set to be a cracker once again and the bettrends team will be on hand to help you navigate through.

The festive period is a busy time of year for many, and for racing fans, the action doesn`t stop but simply ramps up even further. The bettrends team is poised to take you through all the best action from December through to New Year`s Day so you can have a happy holidays. Starting with the Tingle Creek at Sandown where we could see the return of Shishkin then back to Cheltenham for their December meeting featuring another of our exciting Handicap Breakers, The Racing Post Gold Cup. Even racing breaks up for Christmas, albeit a short rest, but before that we have stellar action from Ascot and Haydock to get stuck into. We found L`Homme Presse (advised 4/1) a decisive winner at Ascot last term as he began his ascent to the very top of the novice chasing division. After we gather with our family and friends to celebrate Christmas Day, we are right back into the action on Boxing Day. There is no shortage of races to choose from, with a whopping seven jumps meeting scheduled to take place across the UK, as well as three across the sea in Ireland. The showcase meeting is no doubt at Kempton though, with three consecutive Grade 1 contests culminating in the King George VI Chase. The bettrends team will take you right up until the end of 2022 with our festive service, ending with top-class action on New Year`s Day as we try and enter 2023 with a bang.

Alongside our weekly tipping, our team also like some longer-term punting and thus the Cheltenham Ante-Post service offers a chance to nab some juicy prices early on before the big festival. Every week from December we allow our festival fever to kick in, and our team will begin the Cheltenham countdown and point out value selections as we build a healthy portfolio towards the festival. Last year, our best bet was Elimay who won the Mares` Chase is tough, gutsy fashion at a nice price of 8/1 when advised.

After building up our Cheltenham portfolio, hopefully the bettrends team will have us in a prime position to really smash the festival. We provide daily analysis and trends during the week to make sure you have all the tools to have the best Cheltenham possible. Last year we unearthed a mighty 13 winners from our daily previews including big race winners Elimay, Flooring Porter, Delta Work and Energumene as well as some long-priced place money for horses such as Bell Ex One, Epatante, Fastorslow and Stolen Silver.

We carried our success even further into the Aintree Festival Service with nine winners over the three days, including some lovely prices such as Knight Salute at 14/1, Clan Des Obeaux at 13/2, Ahoy Senor at 4/1 and more. Again we continued our ability to land some big-priced places with the likes on Annamix (50/1), Dancing My Own (25/1) and Mill Green (18/1) all hitting the frame for the bettrends team. The likes of the Aintree festival is still a while off with us only in October, but it is hard to not start getting excited just thinking about the Spring festivals.

Our VIP Weekly Tipping as well as all the standalone services and Handicap Breakers are included in our National Hunt VIP Membership, so our bettrends team has you covered for this jumps season – why not join along for the ride? Find it on the Weatherbys shop here.
